School Support Online Course
**The NEXT course start date is Monday 6th January with 2x webinars per day, with a third optional webinar for additional support. See below.
This is a six week intensive course, which excludes any school holidays (Monday - Friday).
​Compulsory two daily webinars MUST be attended daily (Monday - Friday)
2 hr session in the morning, with a 1 hr lunch break, followed by a second 1.5 hr session.
1st webinar at 9:30am – 11:30am daily
2nd webinar at 12:30 - 2pm daily

3rd webinar at 4pm - 4:30pm daily Reflection and Support (this is an optional daily webinar)

The course is Fully Funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (there is no cost whatsoever).

6 weeks online delivery providing the qualifications, Monday to Friday (timings are shown above and are approximate depending on the education being delivered that day. This is flexible for candidates with school runs, childcare, appointments etc).

Must have internet access and access to a laptop/IPAD/Tablet. Mobile phones are not suitable.

**Please note: Due to the way the funding works, all learners must start on a minimum of a level 2. There will be progression opportunities onto higher levels, which is still included in the funding. After enrolment you will be asked to complete two initial assessments online in English and Maths. These assessments will determine if you start on a level 1 or level 2 course.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Becoming a School Support is an immensely fulfilling and rewarding career.
​
Teaching assistants play a crucial role in ensuring that pupils make the most of their time at school, both academically and personally.
​
They work with students individually and in groups, assisting with assigned tasks and facilitating lessons, allowing the classroom teacher to focus on other responsibilities.
​
This course is the officially government-regulated NCFE CACHE qualification for becoming a Teaching Assistant and is designed to be easy to follow.
​

We have extensive experience in training individuals for school support roles and our course meets the highest OFSTED standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

Must Be Aged 19+

Either Claim Benefits (Universal Credit, JSA, ESA, PIP, Income Support, Housing Benefits or any type of Tax Credit including Child Tax Credit).

OR, be in employment, able to attend the sessions and earning less that £23,500 per year

You Can't be a student or an International Student

You Can't be an Asylum Seeker

You Must have lived in the UK for a Minimum of 3 Years (Except if you are from the Ukraine).

​The process - What to expect
​
Step 1: Enrol on to our School Support Course, by clicking on the link highlighted in green above.
(Make sure you add all information and documentation required. Our admin team will chase you for anything missing, but this can slow the process down).
Step 2: Once you have successfully enrolled, our admin team will send you an email from BKSB (Basic Key Skills Builder). You will be asked to log in and complete two ‘Initial Assessments’ in English and Maths.
(Please note, it’s ONLY the initial assessments you need to complete and NOT the diagnostic section. Please do not worry about these assessments they are only there to determine which level you should start on. You will be able to progress onto higher levels if you wish, which is all still included in the funding).
Step 3: Once you have fully enrolled and completed your assessments, you will be sent an email from Aspire Education Academy congratulating you and inviting you to an online awareness session, which will be on the Thursday before each new course starts.
Step 4: You will be set up with a Microsoft account to use for the duration of the course, where you will be able to log onto your live daily (weekday) sessions for your 6 week course. Please make sure you have access to a laptop or a tablet as this course cannot be completed on a mobile phone device. You will be assigned with one of our tutors, who you will be working with each day. You will be able to contact your tutor outside of your live sessions and after the course finishes.
