Why are Early Years Staff important?

“No job is more important than working with children in the early years.” Development Matters, 2023.

Working in the early year’s sector gives you so much scope to progress and diversify in your career while also making a difference in young children’s lives.

Seeing how the children in your potential settings grow, develop and flourish really are some of the rewards of working with small children. You will be part of their learning journey and with your interactions and activities, you will help them make sense of the world around them.

We will learn how to carry out skilled, fun and supportive interactions to give you the best head start for your career in the early years sector. You will see how every day is different. You will be equipped to carry out observational checkpoints and know how to move children on in their learning which is a key aspect of practitioner life! You will be responsible for keeping children safe, which is a vital aspect of the role. You will work with some truly inspiring people and also get to grow your career and shape it into what you want it to be.
